High School Placement Tests

All 8th grade students applying to Guerin Catholic must sit for the High School Placement Test (HSPT). The HSPT allows our Guidance Department additional insights into the students academic abilities to ensure proper placement into Freshman classes.

The HSPT is composed of subtests in areas of Verbal Skills, Quantitative Skills, Reading, Math, and Language. Guerin Catholic does administer the Religion section of the HSPT test which allots 30 minutes of testing time. The results of the Religion section are not included in the total composite percentage of the HSPT results. The Guerin Catholic Theology Dept. reviews the Religion section results to help assess curriculum development for that incoming class.
